Screen Buzz Selects 10 TV Projects to Participate in TV Screenwriting Workshop at Cairo International Film Festival

Screen Buzz has selected 10 TV projects to participate in the TV Screenwriting Workshop, held as a part of the activities of Cairo Industry Days, in partnership with Arab Cinema Center. These activities will be held during the 40th Cairo International Film Festival.

Aaron Lobel, Founder and President of America Abroad Media (AAM) commented on the selected projects, "We are thrilled to be working with talented participants from across the region to help them tell their original stories and develop compelling purpose driven content".

"The TV projects that participate in the Screen Buzz workshop are promising," said Jordanian star Saba Mubarak, a member of AAM's Middle East Advisory Council. "We have been keen to select various projects of different forms and contents. The majority of the selected projects are from Egypt as it is the most productive country in making TV series in the Arab world annually, and I am excited for the final results of the meetings held among project makers and international experts. I am also excited for my participation in the Cairo Industry Days."

Screen Buzz workshop for TV screenwriting will be introduced at the Cairo International Film Festival under the sponsorship of Lagoonie Film Production.The workshop will be led by Hollywood writer and producer Mark Goffman (Bull | The West Wing), two-time Writers Guild of America Awards nominee; screenwriter Samuel Baum (HBO's The Wizard of Lies | Lie to Me) and writer and producer Jessica Mecklenburg (Stranger Things | Gypsy).

During Cairo Cinema Days, Screen Buzz will present a panel discussion entitled "Hollywood Is Here!: Giving Arab Entertainment The American Buzz". During the panel, the experts will highlight what American TV creators bring to the Arab world through Screen Buzz, which is encouraging high-quality Arabic TV series production. The panel discussion will include Aaron Lobel, Founder And President of AAM, writer and producer Mark Goffman, screenwriter Samuel Baum, writer and producer Jessica Mecklenburg, Jordanian star Saba Mubarak, director Tamer Mohsen, and producer Shahinaz El-akkad, President of Lagoonie. The panel will be led by Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti, Co-founder of Arab Cinema Center and CEO of MAD Solutions.

Screen Buzz will also present a masterclass titled "Determining the Best Format for Your Creative Idea", aiming to shed light on the perfect way to introduce and formulate creative ideas. The masterclass will be led by Producer Mark Goffman, screenwriter Samuel Baum and Jessica Mecklenburg.

The workshops provide access to leading Hollywood talent to help develop the most promising stories in the region. Screen Buzz workshops are held under the supervision of a Middle East Advisory Council, which includes the most prominent Arab figures in the film and TV industry: H.E. Noura Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development (UAE); HRH Princess Rym Ali, Founder of the Jordan Media Institute and Board Member at the Royal Film Commission (Jordan); actress and director Nadine Labaki (Lebanon); actress and producer Saba Mubarak (Jordan); actress Yousra (Egypt); actress Hend Sabry (Tunisia); Ali Jaber, Group TV Director MBC (UAE); and recent member actress Nelly Karim (Egypt). Screen Buzz has partnered with Arab Cinema Center and MAD Solutions handles its distribution responsibilities.

Cairo Industry Days is the industry platform of the Cairo International Film Festival launching during the 40th edition of the festival.
