During the events of the Cairo Industry Days at the 40th Cairo International Film Festival, Pan East Media (Saba Mubarak), Film Clinic (Mohamed Hefzy) and Lagoonie Film Production (Shahinaz Elakkad) signed an agreement to produce the feature film Daughters of Adbulrahman, written and directed by Zaid Abu Hamdan, starring Saba Mubarak, and distributed by MAD Solutions.
The film's star Saba Mubarak, the Founder of Pan East Media, said that the film project "confirms that Arab co-production has become a successful option. For us, an Egyptian company's contribution in producing a Jordanian film is a very important step, especially because Lagoonie has a unique passion and major objectives to produce different Arab content."
Shahinaz Elakkad, CEO of Lagoonie Film Production, comments, "Our plans include producing Arab and international work, and we're so proud that our first Arab co-production is made with star Saba Mubarak in the film Daughters of Adbulrahman."
Commenting on the agreement, Screenwriter and Producer Mohamed Hefzy, Founder and President of Film Clinic welcomes it, stating, "This is not the first time I participate in producing a Jordanian film. I've always sought to form such partnerships that remove the barriers between Arab film markets. Most importantly, this partnership has been created while the four companies attend the events of the Cairo Industry Days, which represents a necessary meeting point and cooperation opportunity between stakeholders in the industry partners in the Arab world and the international industry. Similar opportunities have become indispensable to any festival."
Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti, CEO and Co-founder of MAD Solutions, Co-founder of Arab Cinema Center (ACC), and Partner in Cairo Industry Days, added, "Cooperation is the main pillar for the Arab Cinema Center, which brings its partners together to encourage Arab filmmakers to work together in order to increase production and establish a strong cooperation, mainly between different Arab nationalities."
