Minaa VOD is back online with new features and creative documentaries to enhance streaming experiences for its partners and individuals.
Reem Bader, Founding Director of Minaa and The Creative Documentary Platform, says, "I am truly excited about Minaa's homecoming, especially that the new updates will allow us to further support filmmakers and work more closely with them. Sharing creative documentaries and engaging audiences have always been our missions hence, we developed "institutional" scheme that will enable us to work with new partners and reaching out to new audiences."
On the other hand, Alaa Karkouti, Managing Partner of MAD Solutions, stressed on the importance of the platform, saying, "Minaa is a testimony to the fact that our storytelling culture is still alive and well. It is a narrative style that, unfortunately, has always been associated with news programs in the Arab world. For that reason, the platform is going to work as a motivator to fix this impression, especially with the increasing importance of our documentary films about our history and identity today more than ever before. We aim to use Minaa as an archive, which is constantly on the increase, to tell our Arab modern history."
Minaa has announced the launch of its new subscription scheme for individuals and institutes to give them the opportunity to explore a rich library of Arab documentaries. The new scheme allows Minaa's users to subscribe in the way that best suits them and offers many benefits such as: one month free of charges, unlimited number of non-commercial individual and community streaming, full access to new docs added to the library and promote institutes public streaming and online events. In addition, Minaa
offers academic institutes the possibility of streaming students' films (upon selection process) and share their films as a collection under the institute's name. Revenue generated for students/ right holders will be equal to other docs.
Minaa added many new documentaries to its library, including the films: Route 60- An Itinerary Beyond Borders by Alaa Ashkar and Perforated Memory by Sandra Madi.
