Within the activities organized by the Arab Cinema Center (ACC) at the Cannes Film Festival, Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti, Co-founder of MAD Solutions and ACC, will take part in a panel discussion titled "Opportunities in Emerging Global Markets: The New Gold Rush", which will be held on Friday, May 19th at 10:00 am.
The panel discussion, where the ACC will participate in cooperation with The Hollywood Reporter, will revolve around the analytics that show that markets in Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East are poised to become dominant players on the world stage. This panel will explore the growth and impact of this shift, as the current western push for "diversity" will increasingly become a business necessity. Executives who are successfully navigating these uncharted waters will discuss their current strategies, what content works in their markets, what is exporting and their future plans.
The panel discussion is organized by JJD Consultanyc and Buffalo 8, presented by Alex Ritman of The Hollywood Reporter, and moderated by award-winning producer Steven Adams, Buffalo 8 Productions. Alongside Karkouti, the panel features the Feature Film Packaging Agent Gerren Crochet (Gersh Agency), award-winning Indian actress and independent filmmaker Nandita Das, in addition to Kilian Kerwin, President of Production at Ivanhoe Films; Rose Kuo, Founder of film consulting firm Festworks and former Senior Executive at Dalian Wanda Group; Producer Inya Lawal, Founder of Ascend Talent Management; and Miguel Mier, Global COO at Cinépolis - Mexico's largest theater chain, which also owns theaters in India.
