The Santa Cruz Film Festival aims at promoting the art of filmmaking through featuring a local community, as well as filmmakers and audiences from around the globe. The festival introduces a year-round program full of film events and activities, besides an annual film festival that engage the community in the appreciation of the filmmaking art. It also presents awards in 17 categories, to name a few, Audience Award, Best Animated Work, Best Documentary Feature, Best Experimental Short, Best Locally-Produced Work, Best Narrative Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Short Documentary and Best Student-Produced Work.
