One of the most ancient film festivals in the world that’s considered Central and Eastern Europe’s leading film event. The festival’s first edition was held in 1946, and ever since it gets held annually in July in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The festival’s competition section includes Official Selection Competition, East of the West Competition, and Documentary Films Competition. The festival’s program also includes some Non-competition sections like Horizons and Another View, Imagina, Out of the Past, People Next Door, Future Frames: Ten New Filmmakers To Follow, Variety Critics’ Choice, Midnight Screenings, Czech Films, and Tributes, special focuses and retrospectives.
