Heartland International Film Festival is a ten-day event that showcases 270+ independent films from around the world. It brings together more than 100 filmmakers along with world-wide audiences with the aim of providing them with a platform to interact. In addition to the screenings, the festival includes Indiana Spotlight Competition, Heartland Horror, Narrative, Documentary, and Animated Shorts and High School Film Competition and hands out awards for each category. It also offers Jenni Berebitsky Legacy Award, Best Comedy Short, Best Directorial Debut, Best Student Film Awards along with Audience Choice Awards.
