With a focus on documentary films, Ghent Viewpoint Documentary Film Festival was founded in 1994 to provide a platform for rare talented filmmakers. It showcases films of both novices and veterans, with medium and low budgets, from across the world. It includes many categories such as Documentary Feature Films, Documentary Short Films, Environment Films, Society Films, LGBT Films, Health Films, Artist Films, Experimental Films and Belgium based Documentary Filmmakers. It also selects a winner in each category and one winner of Best of Fest out of the official selection, in which they receive an entry package that equals 500 USD worth of submission fees.
