Founded by the well-known filmmaker Trevor Simms in 2017, Filmchilla is an outdoor film festival that takes place in the beautiful island full of nature and culture, Catalina. The festival aims to present a number of films by talented filmmakers from around the world in a unique atmosphere rather than the usual four-walled festival. The submission is open to different categories, including Feature Film, Short Film, Documentary Film, Virtual Reality, Screenplay, Trailer, Music Video and Series. It also hands various awards; Neon Lightning Bolt, Gorilla, Candy-ography, Series, Golden Pocket Pisto, Gonzo, Emerald Headset, Wet Seed, Liquid Pen and Music Video.
