Open for films with various genres, Brussels Independent Film Festival has been hosted for thirty-eight years now. The festival focuses on the marginalized groups aiming to give the voice to the voiceless and gives a platform for filmmakers, critics, audiences from around the world to have further discussions and watch emerging films together to explore new cinematic techniques. The festival offers many awards, including Best Narrative Feature Film, Best Narrative Short Film Award, Best Documentary Feature Film Award, Best Documentary Short Film Award, Best Animated Film Award, Best Experimental Film Award, Best Music Video Award and Best Belgian Film Award.
