Seeking the finest animated and live-action short films of all genres from around the world, PÖFF Shorts is an Academy Award qualifying festival. It includes three prestigious competitions; International Live-Action Competition, International Animation Competition, where each of them includes the New Talent Competition for students, the National Competition for Estonian filmmakers and animators and PÖFF Rebels With a Cause Competition. It hands out several awards, including Best Live-Action Short, Best student short, Best Short Animation, Best Student Short Animation, Best Short and Special award for Best Short in “Rebels With Their Shorts”.
