The BendFilm Festival is an independent festival that provides filmmakers a platform for meeting, exploring and entertaining. It is open for feature films, documentaries and shorts. In addition to many events the festival offers, there are also many awards to support filmmakers and their work, including Best of Show, Best Directing, The Katie Merritt Audience Award, Best Narrative Feature, Best Documentary Feature, Best Cinematography, Best Indigenous Feature, Special Jury Award for Best Native Knowledge, Best Environmental /Outdoor Adventure Feature, Special Jury Award for Narrative Short, Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Short, Special Jury Awards for Documentary Feature, Best Animated Short, Special Jury Award for Animated Short, Best Student Short and Best of the Northwest
