Living and working in Ramallah where he founded the Cinema Production and Distribution Centre, Rashid is the standard-bearer of new Palestinian cinema and one of its most active filmmakers. His latest feature WRITING ON SNOW is the first Palestinian film to use Tunisia as a location stand-in for Gaza, and sets the template for pan-Arab production with a multinational cast that includes actors from Palestine, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon.
