NABIL AYOUCH
DIRECTOR, WRITER & PRODUCER
MOROCCO
Premiering at Toronto last year, Nabil’s latest film RAZZIA is a searing critique of Moroccan society. The film grew out the controversy generated by his 2015 film MUCH LOVED that premiered in Directors' Fortnight but was banned back home for its story about three women working as prostitutes. One of the actresses was later forced to flee Morocco after being violently assaulted. Despite all the outrage back home, RAZZIA was the official submission of Morocco for the Oscars.
