Since his epic taboo-breaking debut with THE YACOUBIAN BUILDING premiered in Berilnale, Marwan keeps opening new genres in Egyptian films. Collaborating once again with Arab bestselling writer Ahmed Mourad, he has finished shooting a large-scale adaptation of the thriller DIAMOND DUST. The previous time he directed a Mourad novel, the fantasy thriller THE BLUE ELEPHANT, the film grossed a record $4 million in Egyptian theatres. Marwan was just best director at Portugal’s Fantasporto festival for his film THE ORIGINALS. He has more than 200,000 fans on his Facebook official page.
