Writer, Producer, Festival President of CIFF & FOUNDER MANAGER OF FILM CLINIC
EGYPT
One of the leading lights of new Arab cinema, Hefzy has redrawn the map for Egyptian independent films and struck a successful balance between commercial high quality films and art-house fare. He’s the producer of seminal recent films such as MICROPHONE, RAGS AND TATTERS, CLASH and SHEIKH JACKSON. Involved in international films as well, such as MY BROTHER THE DEVIL, he returns to Cannes this year as the co-producer of the Egyptian competition entry YOMEDDINE, a first feature by Abu Bakr Shawky. Before joining Film Clinic, Daniel was already a familiar face in Arab film circles having worked with Good News Group and Amr Waked.
