CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):

Tarek studied filmmaking at Southern Illinois University before managing major productions across Athens and Cairo. He launched his directorial career with two high-octane hits starring Ahmed Zaki: THE EMPEROR, which won Achievement of the Year at CIFF, and EL BASHA. After shifting gears with the romantic cult classic SNAKES AND LADDERS, he set a new benchmark for Egyptian action with TITO. Through his company RAW Productions, Alarian created the blockbuster WELAD RIZK franchise, with its first two installments grossing over $9m. The third installment, WELAD RIZK 3: AL-QADIYA, redefined regional box office history, shattering records with the highest opening week in Egyptian cinema ($2m) and a domestic total of $5.2m. Dominating the Arab World, the film earned over $10m in Saudi Arabia and an additional $5.3m across other regional markets. With a staggering worldwide total surpassing $22.3m, it stands as the fourth-highest-earning Arab film in history.


TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):

Regional Box-Office Dominance: Alarian revitalized the romantic comedy genre with the blockbuster sequel SNAKES AND LADDERS: CHILD’S PLAY. The film emerged as the highest-grossing Egyptian production in Saudi Arabia for 2025, amassing nearly $8m in just seven weeks with 544,000 tickets sold. Its commercial success extended across the Gulf, with UAE revenues surpassing $1.2m.


Domestic Performance: Demonstrating immense cross-border appeal, the film recorded 554,000 admissions in Egypt, totaling $1.83m. While ticket volume mirrored its performance in the kingdom, the higher average ticket price in Saudi Arabia drove significant revenue growth.


Global Commercial Triumph: The film stands as the year’s top-performing Arab title, with worldwide box office receipts exceeding $12m.
