
Shift Studios is a Cairo-based post-production company founded by filmmaker and colorist Sherif Fathy, specializing in editing, color grading, and finishing services for film, television, and commercial projects. Operating across Cairo, Dubai, and Riyadh, the studio has built a reputation for delivering high-end post-production work for both regional and international clients. Led creatively by Fathy, whose background spans directing, editing, and visual arts, the studio has contributed to a wide range of projects across the Arab film industry, working with both emerging and established filmmakers. Its portfolio includes collaborations on festival-driven titles such as I PROMISE YOU PARADISE and AISHA CAN’T FLY AWAY, reflecting its growing presence within internationally circulating Arab cinema.
AISHA CAN’T FLY AWAY: Directed by Morad Mostafa, Fathy served as the co-producer for this Cannes title.
THE LAST MIRACLE: After a high-profile censorship controversy that saw it pulled from El Gouna, the short successfully premiered at Cairo in the Official Short Narrative Competition. It later won Best Short Film at Malmö.
FAKHR AL-SUWAIDI: A Saudi comedy-drama feature directed by Hisham Fathy and Abdullah Bamajboor that was released in Saudi Arabia to positive reviews for its culturally authentic portrayal of Saudi youth.
WHEN THE LIGHT GOES OUT: Shift produced AbdelAziz El-Naggar’s musical short, which premiered at the Cairo International Short Film Festival.
Commercial Projects: Shift has worked on a number of commercial projects throughout the past year, including two Shahid original series throughout the year, THE LAWYER and THE LAST CLASS, the latest season of Egypt’s most beloved puppet show ABLA FAHITA, and the Egyptian commercial film IBN MEIN FEIHOM?.
