CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):

Established in 2009, Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) is a leading advocate and producer of contemporary art in Sharjah and the wider region, offering artistic opportunities and fostering cultural exchange. Its core initiatives include the Sharjah Biennial; the annual March Meeting, which convenes international arts professionals and artists; exhibitions showcasing the work of Arab and international artists; performances; music; film screenings; and artist talks, as well as grants and residencies for artists, curators, and cultural producers. SAF also organizes the Sharjah Film Platform, a 10?day annual festival launched in 2019, showcasing Arab and international films alongside talks, workshops, and industry gatherings.


TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):

Short Film Production Grant: In its eighth edition, three short film projects were awarded a total of AED 120,000, with their premieres set for a future edition of the foundation’s annual festival (SFP).
Inaugural Sharjah Film Platform Feature Fund: In September 2025, the first edition awarded AED 500,000 split equally between Annemarie Jacir’s PALESTINE 36 and Mohamad W. Ali’s COLORED SWEETS.
