Established in 2014, Red Star Films is a Cairo?based progressive production house with an extensive portfolio spanning shorts, features, and documentaries, earning awards from prestigious international festivals such as Cannes, Cairo, and Rotterdam. In recent years, the company has expanded beyond local borders, reaching wider audiences through co?productions of films from Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Palestine, and Saudi films. Its standout productions include THE ORIGINALS, POISONOUS ROSES, I PROMISE YOU PARADISE, TAKE ME TO THE CINEMA, and GOODBYE JULIA.


TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):

ONE MORE SHOW: Red Star produced Mai Saad and Ahmed Al Danaf’s gripping documentary following a troupe performing for children during the Israeli war on Gaza. The film world premiered at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival, winning the Youssef Cherif Rizkallah Audience Award, as well as the prestigious Generation Future Award for Best Director at the Cairo Film Connection, presented in collaboration with The Film Verdict.
Strong Presence at El Gouna: At the eighth GFF, Red Star’s lineup featured Sara Rozik’s LOVE, IMAGINED and Karim El?Shenawy’s AL SADA AL AFADEL, both of which world premiered at the festival and went on to perform strongly in theaters, as well as Namir Abdel Messeeh’s documentary LIFE AFTER SIHAM, which received two awards at El Gouna following its premiere in Cannes’ parallel section ACID, in addition to three other titles.
Shorts on the Festival Circuit: Mohamed Taher’s 32B, winner of the Golden Tanit for Best Short Film at Carthage, as well as Abdelwahab Shawky’s THE LAST MIRACLE and Abanoub Nabil’s THE UNNAMED, both of which premiered at the 46th CIFF.
