
Mohammed Hammad is known for his distinctive, character-driven storytelling. He began his filmmaking career with the short film CALL CENTER, before building a body of work spanning shorts, documentaries, and feature films. His debut feature, WITHERED GREEN, brought him international recognition, premiering at the Locarno International Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Golden Leopard. The film went on to win the Muhr Award for Best Director at the Dubai International Film Festival and Best Director for a First Work at the Cairo National Film Festival. Beyond directing, Hammad has served as a juror at several international festivals, including the Cairo International Film Festival’s Critics’ Week, the Ismailia International Festival for Documentary and Short Films, and the Stockholm International Film Festival.
