
Founded in 1983, Cinetelefilms stands as one of Tunisia’s most active production companies. Under the management of Habib Attia since 2007, the company has played a pivotal role in bringing landmark Tunisian productions to life. Its credits include most of Kaouther Ben Hania’s films, among them the Oscar-nominated FOUR DAUGHTERS and THE MAN WHO SOLD HIS SKIN; Lotfy Nathan’s Cannes-selected HARKA; Hinde Boujemaa’s Venice entry IT WAS BETTER TOMORROW; Meryam Joobeur’s Oscar-nominated short BROTHERHOOD; and Mehdi Barsaoui’s A SON, which earned French star Sami Bouajila Best Actor in Venice’s Horizons Competition and at the French Césars. Beyond Tunisia, Cinetelefilms has also been a frequent partner for Arab filmmakers, producing Palestinian director Rashid Masharawi’s LAILA’S BIRTHDAY and FALESTINE STEREO, as well as Moroccan filmmaker Hind Bensari’s Hot Docs winner WE COULD BE HEROES.
IN A WHISPER: Cinetelefilms produced the third feature by Tunisian filmmaker Leyla Bouzid, which world premiered in the competition of the Berlinale.
The Academy’s membership invitation: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited producer Habib Attia to join its membership, recognizing his outstanding contribution to the global filmmaking community.
