CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):

Founded in 1966, the JCC is technically the oldest film festival still active in the Arab World and Africa. What began as a biennial event in Tunis became an annual fixture in 2014. Despite being held in a city lacking exhibition infrastructure, the JCC can also claim to be the most popular audience festival in the Arab World, with fans lining up outside. In 2014, the JCC launched Carthage Pro as an industry division, which included the Takmil and Chabaka workshops to support projects in post-production and development.


TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):

New Director: Tarek Ben Chaâbane chaired the 36th session, overseeing the festival\'s return to its full competitive format after previous disruptions.
Official Juries: The Feature Fiction jury was headed by Palestinian director Najwa Najjar, while the Feature Documentary competition was led by Tunisian director Raja Amari.
Carthage Pro: The industry wing featured nine projects in its Chabaka Program for films under development, and eight in its Takmil Program for films in post-production.
Ciné Promesse: Dedicated to student and emerging talent, out of 12 films from prestigious international and regional schools.
