Known for his emotive, atmospheric scores, Bouhafa has collaborated with some of the region’s leading filmmakers, crafting music that enhances both the intimacy and scale of their storytelling. His filmography includes acclaimed titles such as BEAUTY AND THE DOGS, THE MAN WHO SOLD HIS SKIN, HAUT ET FORT, and FOUR DAUGHTERS, all of which premiered at major international festivals including Cannes and Venice. His work on FOUR DAUGHTERS earned him the César Award for Best Original Music, marking a major milestone in his career and international recognition for his distinctive sound. Beyond cinema, he has also composed for television, theater, and concert works, expanding his presence across multiple artistic fields.

A Packed and Cinematic 2025: Bouhafa worked on eight award-winning indie films throughout 2025: Kaouther Ben Hania’s THE VOICE OF HIND RAJAB, Morad Mostafa’s AISHA CAN\'T FLY AWAY, Netflix’s AD VITAM by Rodolphe Lauga, Amine Adjina’s SPICES AND LIES, Hafsia Herzi’s THE LITTLE SISTER, Suzannah Mirghani’s COTTON QUEEN, Peter Dourountzis’ VULTURES, and the Nasser Brothers’ ONCE UPON A TIME IN GAZA, in addition to Peter Mimi’s action PROJECT X.
Expanding to Video Games and Series: Bouhafa also scored the French dramas THE DEAL and NISMET, and worked on French developer DON’T NOD’s upcoming game APHELION.
Awards: He won Best Music for Mehdi Barsaoui’s AÏCHA at the ninth Critics Awards for Arab Films and the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra Award for his work on COTTON QUEEN.
