Aliaa is a trailblazer in entertainment law and business affairs in the MENA region. As one of the first professionals to specialize in this area, she has played a transformative role in shaping the legal and business frameworks that support the region’s creative industries and has represented some of the region’s biggest talents. Her journey began in 2011, when she was appointed head of the Legal Department and Film Finance Arm at the Dubai International Film Festival for 7 years. In 2018, she spearheaded the creation of Cairo Industry Days at the Cairo International Film Festival, which has since become a cornerstone for the industry’s business and affairs ecosystem.
Fineprint: A boutique consultancy founded by Aliaa specializing in business and legal affairs in the creative industries. Over the past year, she has been involved in a number of the region’s most prominent productions, advising international, regional, and local players on complex, high-value transactions across film, television, music, and digital content. Her work has also expanded to advising government and semi-government entities on policy, incentive structures, and regulatory frameworks supporting the growth of the media and entertainment sector. She is currently Of Counsel at Matouk Bassiouny, where she advises on complex cross-border transactions and strategic matters within the media and entertainment space.
