CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
The SFC is a governmental body
established in 2020 to develop the film sector and the film
production ecosystem in Saudi Arabia and to empower Saudi
filmmakers across all value chain elements. Film Saudi is the
commission's funding arm, offering incentives to enable projects
and connect filmmakers with the right talent, local service
providers, crews, facilities, and other partners. Its incentive
program is one of the strategic initiatives of the film commission
to develop the kingdom's film industry.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S): Memberships: The SFC has become a member of the
Association of Film Commissioners International, a global
network comprising more than 360 film boards from over 40
countries; the Asian Film Commissions Network, an NGO
founded in 2004 that represents over 50 members from 19
countries and regions across Asia; and the International
Federation of Television Archives, a global network of more
than 200 organizations committed to preserving and
promoting audiovisual heritage. Oversight Transfer: The Council of Ministers ordered the SFC
to oversee responsibilities for the cinema sector, marking a
departure from the purview of the General Authority of Media
Regulation. Around the World: In recent months, the SFC has toured the
Venice, Toronto, Shanghai, and Berlin festivals and organized
Saudi film programs in China, India, and Australia.
