ROYAL FILM COMMISSION - JORDAN (RFC) | JORDAN
CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
The RFC was established to develop an internationally competitive Jordanian film industry and is a member of the Association for Film Commissioners International. In 2024, the RFC celebrated its 20th anniversary by inaugurating the country’s first comprehensive studio complex — Olivewood Film Studios. The RFC established the Jordan Film Fund (JFF) in 2011 as a financial scheme founded and financed by the RFC to fund cinematic projects and empower local and Arab filmmakers.
TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
Filmmaking Labs: In addition to its activities with the Rawi Screenwriters Lab and Mosalsalat Lab for film and TV screenwriters, the RFC launched the first edition of the Arab Producers Lab in collaboration with the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs.
Nominated for Dune: The Location Managers Guild International nominated the RFC for the Outstanding Film Commission Award in its 11th annual awards for the exceptional filming services provided for DUNE: PART TWO, which was shot in Wadi Rum in 2022.
The Jordan Cinema Academy: A program by The RFC in cooperation with the German Jordanian University started its first academic year in October 2024. It will be a four-semester educational program ending in January 2026, with 14 students selected from all over the Kingdom, Egypt, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon.
