CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
A member of the Association of Film Commissioners International, Film AlUla is a film agency established by the Royal Commission for AlUla to become a key player in the development of the film industry in Saudi Arabia. Since 2020, the agency has hosted over 1,200 days of filming, including the action movie KANDAHAR starring Gerard Butler, the Russo brothers’ drama CHERRY starring Tom Holland, and Saudi filmmaker Tawfik Alzaidi’s film NORAH, which was the first Saudi feature filmed at AlUla with over 40% of the crew being Saudi. Film AlUla has partnered with Hollywood indie studio Stampede Ventures, bringing 10 productions to the region over three years with a projected $350m in funding. Film AlUla has opened the AlUla Studios complex, a full-service facility with a 30,000-square-foot soundstage, a backlot, production support buildings, warehouses, and a recording studio.

77TH Cannes: NORAH was Saudi Arabia’s debut at Cannes’ Un Certain Regard.
Set to Film in AlUla: Saudi filmmaker Shahad Ameen’s second feature, HIJRA — an AlUla co-production — and SIWAR, the debut feature by award-winning Saudi director and producer Osama Alkhurayji, will be filmed in AlUla.
Partnership Developments with Stampede: Marking AlUla Studios’ production debut, Alexis Ostrander’s FOURTH WALL, starring American actress and singer Emma Roberts, is set for production in 2025. Director Jessika Borsiczky's CHASING RED will follow.
