CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
The DFI is dedicated to film appreciation, education, and building a dynamic film industry that
focuses on nurturing regional storytellers while maintaining a global scope. It serves as an all-encompassing film hub in Doha
and a resource for the region and the rest of the world. The DFI hosts two major film festivals each year: the Ajyal Film
Festival and Qumra. Since its inception in 2010, the DFI has financially supported over 900 Arab and international projects
from 75 countries through the development and post-production stages. It is also the first Arab organization to
score 10 Oscar nominations for seven consecutive years — an unprecedented achievement for our world

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S): Doha Film Festival: Once the Ajyal Film Festival, this larger, more ambitious version of the event is set to launch in November 2025. Spring Grants Cycle: During the 77th Cannes Film Festival, the DFI announced the selection of 44 films from 17 countries. Fall Grants Cycle: In January 2024, DFI selected 47 projects from 23 countries, spanning narrative, documentary, and experimental
films as well as series.
