CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Diamand initially kick-started her career in Lebanese theater, where she
participated in over 14 successful plays — some of which she wrote and directed herself — before
appearing in several Lebanese, Arab, and international projects culminating in her cinematic debut in
BEIRUT OPEN CITY. Her magnum opus, VOID, which she starred in and co-wrote alongside Georges
Khabbaz, earned her several local and international awards and was one of the films in consideration to be
Lebanon’s official submission for the 88th Academy Awards.
Abou Abboud came into international prominence after starring in THE INSULT and INSYRIATED. Her
other projects include the film STABLE UNSTABLE, the mini-series EDEN, and the TV series BEIRUT 6:07,
FIXER, AL NAHAT, ANA, and AMNESIA.
Her recent works include Netflix’s PERFECT STRANGERS, the Shahid series BITLOU' AL ROUH, and the
thriller film ELEKTRA. She also recently made her debut starring role in Egyptian cinema in HASSAN EL
MASRI. The star has nine prestigious awards to her name and has served as a jury member at many
notable film festivals, including the Cairo, Carthage, and Malmö festivals.
TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S): ARZÉ: After winning Best Actress at the CIFF in 2017, Diamand returned triumphantly in 2024, winning
the same award again for her performance in ARZÉ, directed by Mira Shaib. The film, which premiered at
the Beijing International Film Festival and screened at Tribeca, was selected as Lebanon’s official entry for
the 97th Oscars. Arzé marks Diamand’s third Oscar-contending film after VOID and THE INSULT. On the TV Side: Diamand starred in MIRAGE, TOD’s first original series by Egyptian director Ahmed
Khaled, showcasing her versatility in Egyptian drama. She also appeared in THE BOARD — a Pan-Arab
production written and directed by Hozan Akko, which brought together an ensemble cast from across
the region.
