CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Committed to delivering cinematic and cultural experiences in the heart of Dubai and the region, Cinema Akil (CA) is the sole independent arthouse in the GCC. Launched in 2014 as a nomadic cinema, CA has hosted over 75 programs, attracting more than 90,000 attendees in the UAE. It also held its first regional pop-up in Doha during the 2022 World Cup, followed by a pop-up in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
Special Programs: the 15th edition of Franco Film Week in collaboration with the Institut Français in the UAE, fourth edition of the Hong Kong Film Festival, the 11th edition of Reel Palestine, and many other programs.
Pop-Ups: Several film events, such as the All The Wild Things Program in Abu Dhabi at 421 Campus, showcasing regional films that explore the climate crisis, and the Arabian Days Festival at the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, aligning with UNESCO’s World Arabic Language Day on December 18th.
