Cairo Industry Days (CID), the festival’s industry division, boasts a
thriving forum for industry deal-making, co-production, and

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S): Management Changes: Essam Zakaria, Egyptian film critic and
the former president of the Ismailia International Film Festival,
stepped out as the CIFF’s artistic director after the conclusion
of its 46th edition, and Egyptian film critic and programmer
Mohamed Tarek has been appointed to the post in February
2025 after serving as artistic consultant for last year’s edition
and deputy artistic director for the 44th edition. Meet the CIFF team at Marché du film: The CIFF is returning
to Cannes’ market this year through a joint pavilion with the El
Gouna Film Festival and the Egypt Film Commission.
