CAIRO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (CIFF) | EGYPT
CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Established in 1976, the CIFF is the oldest annually running and only internationally accredited film festival in Africa and the MENA region. Cairo Industry Days (CID), the festival’s industry division, boasts a thriving forum for industry deal-making, co-production, and knowledge sharing that has hatched and supported an impressive array of leading Arab film projects over the past few years.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
Management Changes: Essam Zakaria, Egyptian film critic and the former president of the Ismailia International Film Festival, stepped out as the CIFF’s artistic director after the conclusion of its 46th edition, and Egyptian film critic and programmer Mohamed Tarek has been appointed to the post in February 2025 after serving as artistic consultant for last year’s edition and deputy artistic director for the 44th edition.
