CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
An accomplished actor who has been recognized by Screen Daily as one of
its Arab Stars of Tomorrow in 2017 and by the TIFF as a Rising Star in 2018, Malek has starred in many
international films, including Marco De Rosso’s short film FINCHLEY LANE, the BBC production TV series
BOILING POINT, and the Australian feature THE FURNACE, for which he was nominated for Best Lead
Actor in the AACTA Awards. The film premiered at Venice and was praised by Screen Daily for Malek's
“eye-catching” performance.
Before that, Malek also starred in Amr Salama’s SHEIKH JACKSON, which premiered at the 42nd TIFF. And
in 2022, he featured alongside an all-star cast in Marwan Hamed’s box office smash KIRA & EL GIN before
co-starring in Netflix’s THE SWIMMERS, which opened the TIFF that same year.
Besides his artistic career, Malek was Dior's choice as its first male ambassador for fashion and fragrances
in the Middle East. As of 2024, Ahmed’s been busy working on his ambassadorship duties for both Cartier
and Dior.

TV Boom: During the summer of 2024, Malek built a new appeal on the smaller screen as a chef in
Shahid’s kitchen thriller EL HABAYEB RESTAURANT before securing his first lead role in the 2025
Ramadan prime TV season in the heartbreaking drama WELAD EL SHAMS.
Non-Stop Film Venturing: His upcoming film, MY FATHER'S SCENT, competed at the 2024 edition of the
Final Cut in Venice, where it won five awards. Also, he starred in Karim Shaaban’s debut romantic drama
feature SIX DAYS, written by esteemed screenwriter Wael Hamdy, which dropped successfully in cinemas
in January 2025.
48Hr Challenge: Malek joined the jury for the fourth edition of the 48Hr Film Challenge by the Red Sea
Film Foundation.
