Ezz has been a first-rate pick for any director trying to make a box office hit. In 2019, before cinemas shut down, two of his films — WELAD RIZK 2 and THE PASSAGE — brought in a combined $12m. That successful streak continued with his spy thriller THE KNOWER, followed by Marwan Hamed’s blockbuster KIRA & EL GIN alongside A-list actors Karim Abdel Aziz, Hend Sabri, and Ahmed Malek in a $10m period drama based on Ahmed Mourad's book 1919, which won him the Favorite Actor Award at the 2023 Joy Awards.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
The Excellence Award: In the 45th edition of the CIFF, Ezz was honored with the Faten Hamama Excellence Award on account of his contributions to the Egyptian cinema industry.
Another Box Office Hit: His third installment of the WELAD RIZK franchise smashed regional box offices, becoming the highest-earning Egyptian film ever, with more than EGP 250m in revenues.
Upcoming Blockbusters: Ezz wrapped up 7 DOGS, a Saudi-Egyptian action film alongside Karim Abdel Aziz, and is currently busy shooting the period action film DEATH SQUAD starring another actress on this list: Mena Shalaby.
