Founded in 2004, the World Cinema Fund (WCF) was initiated by the German Federal Cultural Foundation and the Berlinale. The WCF concentrates on backing the production and distribution of feature-length films from Africa and the Middle East, among other emerging regions. It provides support in production, post-production, and distribution.
TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
In its latest funding round, the WCF announced in November that it would provide a substantial €360,000 in funding for 14 international projects. The WCF has recommended production funding for 11 projects and distribution grants for three films.
