What's the best advice you have ever been given- or given to others?
Being a film composer makes you a filmmaker more than a musician. Your sole purpose is to tell a story, not to compose music.

What has been your biggest setback/hurdle?
Finding the balance between enjoying the process and meeting the deadlines.

What is the biggest misunderstanding about the Arab World and/or its entertainment industry?
Films play a much bigger role in our daily lives and popular culture than expected. We relate everything to a character or a line from a film. Memes? Almost exclusively based on films. Instrumental music? Almost exclusively film scores.

What will have the greatest game-changing effect on Arab cinema?
Being open to talents from different backgrounds. Last year, two TikTok users won a Grammy award for composing a TikTok musical! We're still far behind in that regard.

How do you recognize real talent?
The definition of talent varies greatly from field to field and even within the same field. Bob Dylan's talents as a singer can't be more different than, say, Stevie Wonder's. I believe that "real talent" can be defined as a mix of individuality, consistency, sincerity, and clarity of artistic vision. I believe these are its essential components, whichever shape or form it takes.
