His star-stuffed debut feature, SLEEPLESS NIGHTS, was a box office hit in 2003 and became an award-winning classic about common marriage crises. Well-known as a director who gives much attention to details and acting, Hany helmed a few titles in the following years, including Sukkar Mor (2015), which was a further development of his first film in post-revolution Egypt, the 1940s set TV series EUGENIE NIGHTS (2018), and Shahid’s mini-series thriller WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT in 2022.

His critically acclaimed film FLIGHT 404, a religion and redemption taboo breaker starring Mona Zaki, became a stunning hit and headed the box office in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. In the Ramadan season last April, he gained more appreciation for his mini-series WITHOUT WARNING.
