CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Film AlUla is a film agency established in early 2020 by the Royal Commission for AlUla with the mandate to promote and support international, regional, and local film and TV production in the AlUla region. The agency has been tasked with developing a film-friendly ecosystem to nurture emerging filmmaking talent and develop the country’s burgeoning film industry. Film AlUla is a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International and follows the best practices laid down by it. The film industry in AlUla is beginning to flourish with local and international production companies choosing the pristine landscapes as the backdrop for a range of upcoming feature films and high-end television projects.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
Film AlUla has partnered with Hollywood Indie Stampede Ventures, bringing 10 productions to the region over the next three years with a projected $350m in funding. Film AlUla has opened two 26,000 sqft soundstages with workshops and a backlot for short-term infrastructure and set builds. During the 2023 Cannes Festival, AlUla announced a filmmaking mentoring program for emerging Saudi Arabian female filmmakers headed by Katie Holmes. It also sponsored two awards at the third edition of the RSIFF.
