CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Committed to delivering cinematic and cultural experiences in the heart of Dubai and the region, Cinema Akil (CA) is the sole independent arthouse in the GCC. Launched in 2014 as a nomadic cinema, CA has held over 75 programs, attracting over 90,000 attendees in the UAE. It also held its first regional pop-up in Doha during the World Cup in 2022, followed by a pop-up in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
In collaboration with hospitality company Ennismore, CA opened its seasonal outdoor venue, CA 25hours, with screenings scheduled four times a week from November 2023 to May 2024. Last year, CA continued holding its engaging programs, including the second Arab Cinema Week, which was held under the theme of Human Bonds; the 10th edition of Reel Palestine, a film festival that pays homage to Palestinian resilience, accompanied by masterclasses, workshops, and the annual souq; and the 14th Franco Film Festival in collaboration with the Institut Français UAE.
