Bouhafa claims and always balances his two cultures and develops a unique style by playing with the orientalism clichés. In 2015, he was chosen to compose
the score for TIMBUKTU, for which he received a César for Best Original Score and the Grand Prize France Musique–Sacem. In 2017, he scored the music of Kaouther Ben Hania’s
BEAUTY AND THE DOGS (Best Sound Creation at the Cannes Film Festival). He then scored various international titles such as the Sudanese film YOU WILL DIE AT 20, Oscar Nominee
THE MAN WHO SOLD HIS SKIN, the French animation THE SUMMIT OF THE GODS, pan-Arab historical series KINGDOM OF FIRE, arte’s series LE MONDE DE DEMAIN, and three seasons of
he animated series THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON (Studio Canal).

Bouhafa scored music for several award-winning films, such as Ben Hania’s FOUR DAUGHTERS, which won the Golden Eye Documentary Prize at the 2023 Cannes, the César Award for
Best Documentary and was nominated for the Oscars; Lina Soualem's poignant documentary, BYE BYE TIBERIAS, which premiered at Venice Festival. On the TV front, he put the music
for the grand Egyptian production of EL HASHAASHIN during Ramadan season and many non-Arabic projects, including the French mini-series CLASS ACT and the French feature ALONG CAME LOVE.
