CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Hafez was inducted into the American Cinema Editors (ACE) and the Motion Picture Editors Guild in 2021. He edited two episodes of Marvel’s mini-series MOON KNIGHT for Disney Plus, reuniting him with director Mohamed Diab following their work together on CLASH, which earned him the Best Editing Award at the Carthage Film Festival (JCC), and AMIRA, which premiered at the 2021 Venice. He also teamed up with prominent director Marwan Hamed in his last five films, including the box office hits THE BLUE ELEPHANT sequels and KIRA & El GIN. On TV, he edited Paranormal, Netflix’s first Egyptian original, and his latest, UNDER GUARDIANSHIP, was widely watched across the Arab World.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
Hafez had a fruitful year with INSHALLAH A BOY, making history at the 2023 Cannes as the first Jordanian film in the festival selections. Moreover, the film was selected to represent Jordan in the highly coveted Best Foreign Film category at the 96th Academy Awards. It was Hafez's second national selection for the 2024 Oscars, following Egyptian film VOY! VOY! VOY!. On the TV end, Hafez won the best editing award for UNDER GUARDIANSHIP series at the second edition of the Cairo Drama Festival.
