CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Adam is best known for his roles in the Netflix original MOSUL — an Iraqi war film that premiered at the Venice Film Festival; EXTRACTION alongside Chris Hemsworth; Amazon Prime’s series HANNA; and for THE CHANNEL thriller film alongside French star Alice Isaaz. His role in HARKA — inspired by the Tunisian street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi, who in 2011 ignited the Arab Spring by setting himself on fire in the city of Sidi Bouzid — won him the Best Performance Award at Cannes’ Un Certain Regard and the Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) and a nomination for France’s Lumière Awards.

Bessa continued to reach international audiences with his role in the Netflix action film EXTRACTION and its sequel, which aired in 2023. The sequel further developed his character and included complex action sequences. His latest film, WHO DO I BELONG TO, is Tunisian director Meryam Joobeur’s thriller debut feature, which premiered at the 74th Berlinale’s Main Competition.
