TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
It’s been a busy time for Zawya Cinema, packed with a number of film screenings,
festivals, and collaborations, such as the third edition of the Maqamāt Program, 3 x 3: Socio-Poetic Realism in British cinema, and
the Zawya Shorts Program, which featured 31 distinguished films that were selected from 300 submissions. They also recently
announced Cairo Cinema Days is coming back for a sixth edition!

CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Shazli studied International Development at McGill University then joined
Misr International Films in 2013 to work on the Panorama of the European Film. He then co-founded
Zawya in 2014. He has given several talks and workshops on alternative film exhibitions and distribution in
the Arab world and has worked as a reader and juror for several film projects.
