An Egyptian pop singer, actor, composer, director and lyricist, Tamer has been enjoying substantial on-screen success at Egypt’s box office ever since 2018. His hits have included EL BADLA, THE MONEY and NOT ME, which became the first Egyptian film to be released in Saudi Arabia en route to achieving the highest total international gross for any Arab-language film in 2021.

TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
The multi-hyphenate Tamer scored big time this year with his romantic comedy I LOVE YOU, his directorial debut in which he also wrong, sang and starred as a self-made businessman torn between the woman he’s about to marry and an old flame. Despite misgivings from critics, the film racked up $21.9 million in grosses from the Egyptian, Saudi and UAE box offices for Italia Film and Orient Films. With additional distribution across the Arab world and even the U.S., the film has become the top grossing Arab film worldwide, far ahead of any other contender.
