Station Films had a fruitful year with two of their productions achieving landmark
success: THE BURDENED, by Amr Gamal, became the first Yemeni film to be selected for the Berlinale where the Amnesty
international Award for Human Rights and came in second place in audience voting polls; and , GOODBYE JULIA by Mohamed
Kordofani, which will play in Un Certain Regard at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, becoming the the first Sudanese film to be in
Official Selection in that festival’s long history.

CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
Amjad made history several times with his first feature debut YOU WILL
DIE AT TWENTY. The film was Sudan’s first selection in Venice 2019 where he snagged the award for
Best Debut Film before getting a dozen more prizes at subsequent festivals including Best Screenplay
from The Arab Cinema Center’s Critics’ Awards for Arab Films. He was also the co-producer of the
Egyptian documentary CAPTAINS OF ZA’ATARI, which premiered in the competition in Sundance 2021.
Amjad was selected as a jury member in the First Feature independent jury at Locarno Festival 2021.

CAREER HIGHLIGHT(S):
A Sudanese director and producer, his film THE LAST GAME was screened
in Doha Tribeca Film Festival. He also collaborated with many Sudanese filmmakers as a producer, art
director and assistant director. Some of the notable films he worked on include the Amjad Abu Alaa feature
YOU WILL DIE AT TWENTY, and NYERKUK by Mohamed Kordofani which won the NAAS award at Carthage
Film Festival in 2016. Omda is also a film programmer at Sudan Film Factory.
