Born in 1970 in Nazareth, she is known for BURTUQAL (2009), PERSONAL AFFAIRS (2016) and MEDITERRANEAN FEVER (2022), a Haifa-set film which was made with money from Germany, France, Cyprus, Lebanon and Qatar.

Her latest feature film, the wry black comedy MEDITERRANEAN FEVER about a weird friendship between two stay-at-home fathers, won Best Screenplay in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard and was officially selected to represent Palestine in the international films category at the 95th Academy Awards in 2023.
