One of the most popular and acclaimed actresses in the Arab world after becoming a fixture on Syrian television and then finding fame in Egyptian films and series, Kinda has returned from a five year-break to reclaim her screen status in a string of eye-catching roles directed by women that have allowed her to break free from her “good girl” persona.
Her starring role in NEZOUH by Syrian director Soudade Kaadan helped the film win the Audience Award last year the Venice Film Festival’s Orizzonti Extra section; she then appeared in Netflix’s THE SWIMMERS by Sally El Hosaini, which opened the Toronto International Film Festival and was nominated for a BAFTA; and soon she will be seen in YELLOW BUS, an OSN original by Wendy Bednarz in which Kinda makes her English-speaking acting debut alongside a cast of Bollywood actors.
