TWELVE-MONTH HIGHLIGHT(S):
This year, ART provided two awards at the Red Sea International Film Festival, acquiring the distribution rights to several fresh projects across the Arab world. The first award ($50,000 to a Saudi project in development or in production) went to WITHIN SAND by Moe Alatawi, and the second award ($50,000 to a non-Saudi project in development or in production) went to the Jordanian project MONTREAL by Ameen Nayfeh. The broadcaster also gave Tamer Ashry's Egyptian film project OVER THREE DAYS a $10,000 prize at Cairo Film Connection.
