Previously a human rights activist working in cultural management in Egypt and Sudan, Talal launched his festival in 2014. He also curates the Sudan Film Factory, a production company which has yielded projects such as Sally Abobasha’s new documentary FRAGILE, which just received a development award from the Luxor African Film Festival. In conjunction with the British Council, Talal’s organization recently invited applications for Khartoum Bites, a joint initiative through which filmmakers will be fully supported in the creation of five ten-minute films that explore the texture and poetic details of life in Sudan’s historic capital city.
