Despite the modest sizes of its grants, this Beirut fund has had a measurable impact on Arab cultural life, and more than one thousand projects across the entire artistic spectrum have benefited.In April, AFAC announced a partnership with Netflix for an initiative that will support female filmmakers, and named five Arab women filmmakers and producers (from Morocco, Lebanon and Tunisia) who will receive a one-time grant through Netflix’s $250,000 Fund for Creative Equity to help bring their projects to life.
